The Board of Directors comprises individuals with extensive combined experience in both the energy sector and Africa.
  • Fassine Fofana - CEO
    Fassine is a chemical engineer with an MBA from INSEAD. He holds an MSc in Financial Economics from the University of London, and the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School. Fassine was Minister of Mining and Energy in Guinea from 1994-2000 and Secretary General for the Central Bank of Guinea from 1991-1994. He has previously held Chairmanships in resource companies, and a strategic planning role with United States-based diesel engine maker Cummins. From 1996 to 2000 Fassine served on the governing board of the African Development Bank. He is Chairman at Energy Equity Resources, an oil and gas group based in London.
  • Chris Thompson - Director
    Chris is a Trust Manager of FNB International Trustees Limited, and has worked in the finance industry for 34 years. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Previous roles have been with the National Westminster Guernsey Trust Company and the Royal Bank of Canada Trust Company (Guernsey). Chris worked with FNB for over sixteen years in the role of office manager and client servicing manager and has vast experience of both personal and institutional clients.
  • Brian Mitchell - Director
    Brian was a Senior Trust Manager with Barclays Bank and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He was in charge of the Nairobi office for 10 years before being transferred to Guernsey when he ran the Trustee office for 7 years. He retired from Barclays and joined Ashburton as a Director of the Trust Company and worked in Guernsey before returning to the Nairobi office for a further 5 years.
  • Mohammed Hassan - Director
    Mohammed is a Master of Science (Finance) from Strathclyde University, Glasgow. He served as Joint CEO of Dyer & Blair, one of east Africa's leading investment banking groups. Mohammed has led corporate finance transactions in the energy, manufacturing, banking and retail sectors. He was the project manager for the Safaricom IPO, team leader on the Stanbic Uganda IPO and was a key member of the KenGen IPO as the supervisor of the Book-Building and Book-Running assignment. Mohammed also holds the Advanced Management Program and is a member of the CFA Institute.
  • Alan Corlett - Director
    Alan is a Director of FNB International Trustees. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant in Guernsey. Alan moved to Johannesburg for 2 years with KPMG, and later worked for Investec Bank. Returning to Guernsey in 1992, Alan co-headed the Guernsey office of an independent trust company before joining FNB International Trustees in 2010. Alan has a Securities Institute Diploma and STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and has completed the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators exams
  • Fred Ojiambo – Director
    Fred has been in continuous active practice of law in the full service firm of Messrs Kaplan & Stratton, Advocates, for the last 40 years. He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public.
